Android Creator Has Found A New Gig

This was expected - Andy Rubin is now officially out of Google and Android, more than a year removed from his hands, has also moved on. This was pretty much expected given at the time, another executive At Apple was removed from his post, paid millions to do nothing for a year, before he is allowed to leave the company and work on something, anything, that doesn't not compete with his former masters.

The executive at Apple, Scott Forestall, has been laying low but Rubin's non-Google path here is much clearer.

Rubin will be starting his own incubator. If you're not aware of what that is, it's essentially a company flushed with cash and resources to help foster new ideas and startups and, hopefully, bear fruit for the various participants involved. Investors would like to see their returns on investment many times over while others hope to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Perosnally, I'm excited to see what Rubin comes up with. Given his background, I think there will be a little of everything for everyone if it's hardware-based. Like you and me, Rubin has grown immensely at his time with Google and see things that will likely never see the light of day.

My only question is whether Google is in anyway a partner of sort.
