Ah-ha!
The story so far: Microsoft was interested in Motorola before Google bought them for a 60% premium Brilliant move by all three involved.
Google got something it wanted, patents, while Microsoft likely jacked up the price for Motorola, and Motorola investors walked away with a lot of money (in cash) from a dying company.
I'm still waiting to see who the "several parties" are discussion to buy Motorola. I am guessing it is Dell or another PC company looking for a shortcut into the mobile game.
