Get Your Androids Now; Oracle Win Could Mean Costlier Handsets

Oracle has a pending lawsuit against Google over Java patents.  Like most other lawsuits, I expected a few hundred millions to exchange hands followed by a handshake.  Well, it looks like Oracle is asking for damages in the billions - likely more money than Google has made from Android so far.

Okay, I get that Oracle could get something from Google if it prevails but all of its profits if not more?  How does that make any sense? 

Then again,we are talking about Larry Ellison, CEO and part-time samari, here.
