1.5M G1 Pre-Ordered: News To Wake Up To

According to Engadget Mobile, 1.5 million G1 has been ordered.  Is Android relevant?  That question is too early to tell right now.  Like EM says, everyone including myself are buying this based on faith that Google will bring additional energy to the mobile market.

According to one user's review, there appears to be some issues but the overall experience has been good.  Sounds a lot like what version ones go through when they are released.  I think what has been built into the mindset of executives is that users will help tell them what needs to be fixed.  When the iPhone was released, everyone loved it but we also had some issues with it.

This is indeed very exciting.  However, Pulse 2 has said something that is very important regarding the future development of Android:  first impression.  It have better be good.  I'm excited about Android but not that excited about the hardware design so far.

we'll see in 11 days (including today).  Very exciting news.

Note:  From a developer standpoint, having two 1.5 million, maybe 2 or 2.5 million by the end of 2008 could be very good news.  From a mobile user standpoint, we welcome additional competition.
